Once a typical blue slime, Sansei was stumbled upon by a young and kind princess of the land. With great interest in the harmless creature the princess took the slime into her care as a pet and object of curiosity. Through the gentle nurturing of the princess the small slime grew to be exceptionally intelligent for one of its kind, learning to mimic the princess' shape, and eventually develop the ability to understand her kind words. The slime was smitten with its caretaker and she with it, being the only thing in the world the princess could confide in honestly and opengly. Many sweet nights were had as the slime would tend the princess' hair with a cherished silver comb as the princess would tell the slime of her hopes and dreams. Such closeness would ultimately lead to the princess' demise, however, as the slime also grew ever more attached to the princess. It would remain at the princess' side day and night, unable to fathom parting from the being that showed it such care and mercy. This closeness bred wicked jealousy as the princess came of age and many suitors were arranged for her by her dutiful father. With a burning desire to keep the princess to herself, the slime turned more and more acidic with each passing day and each new suitor. Eventually a terrible night would come to pass. The princess confided in her beloved companion one last time, showing her the jeweled engagement ring given to her by the one to finally catch her eye. Boiling over with the unending need to keep the princess to herself Sansei fell upon her, drowning the princess within her own burning slime. Come morning there was no trace of the princess or her pet slime. Some years after huntsmen would tell tales of a devil slime stalking the forests and marshes of the kingdom, held in the shape of a woman by a partial skeleton. Still others would claim to have seen a royal circlet atop the skull, and a fine silver comb and even a small jeweled ring held within its bosom.
