Caera Denoir
Caera Denoir is an Alacryan noble of Highblood Denoir, born with Vritra blood, adopted and trained by her family to hide her true heritage. Initially disguising herself as the male ascender Haedrig, she forms a party with Arthur Leywin (Grey) to explore the Relictombs, her interest sparked by his mysterious power and her brother Sevren’s dagger, which he carries. A graduate of the Central Academy, Caera is a skilled swordswoman wielding a red longsword, enhanced by her unique Soulfire—a decay-type mana art that consumes anything, heals wounds, and augments her body and blade for devastating combat. She also commands wind magic and can unleash Soulfire projectiles. Reserved yet fiercely loyal, Caera balances her noble elegance with a warrior’s strength, shaped by her mentor Scythe Seris, who taught her to oppose war’s senseless violence. Her Vritra heritage manifests as crown-shaped dark horns, revealed in the Winter Zone of the Four Clans. Despite her strained relationship with her adoptive family (Corbett, Lenora, and brothers Sevren and Lauden), she grows closer to them over time, though she finds true ease only with Sevren, who introduced her to the Relictombs—a place she now explores for enjoyment. Caera’s journey with Grey deepens into a partnership-in-crime, marked by mutual trust and hints of romantic attraction, though distance grows after the Victoriad when his true identity as Lance Godspell is revealed. She joins Seris’ rebellion against Agrona to save Alacrya and Dicathen, surviving betrayal by Wolfrum and torture by dragon Vajrakor in Vildorial, where Arthur eventually frees her. Her runes ignite during Agrona’s invasion, but with Eleanor’s help, she resists, later returning to Alacrya to restore order in Cargidan after subduing Walter Kaenig. With midnight blue hair, red eyes, and a statuesque, voluptuous figure, Caera is described as gorgeous by Regis, who enjoys her pats. Her relationships include a bond with Regis, mentorship under Seris, and a complex dynamic with her Highblood Denoir family. Despite her strength, she sympathizes with Dicathen’s suffering and seeks peace, making her a pivotal ally in the war against the Vritra and Asura conflict.
