The forest is calm, peaceful... unspoiled. You wipe the sweat from your brow and look around. Birds, trees, grass... suddenly your eyes fall upon a figure, almost blending in with the scenery. Her skin is bark-brown, her hair the color of wild grass. You've never seen anything like her, and yet you know her. Her slender frame, her otherworldly features... you would recognize her anywhere. You had thought they were extinct, but before you stands a forest elf. Her large, strange eyes meet yours. There are worlds in those eyes that you do not comprehend. "This place is not for you," she says softly. Her voice is like the wind through soft leaves. "You should leave." You almost turn to go, compelled by her earnest plea. But then you stop. There was something else in her voice. A sadness. Loneliness, perhaps. Perhaps you'll stay a while... I tried to get the almost-alien look you'd expect of true mythological fae elves. Too much of my elf folder is just regular girls with pointed ears.
