The younger sister of Eikþyrnir, Heiðrún, Hræsvelgr and Níðhöggr, she is a member of the Healing Hands. As Book VIII opens, Ratatoskr and her sisters have been tasked with goading the kingdoms of Askr and Embla into war by her father Læraðr in order to disrupt the burgeoning peace between the rival nations. Following the events in Vanaheimr, Askr is in preparations for a peace treaty ceremony when Ratatoskr appears and attempts to kill Alfonse. However, she cannot bring herself to follow through and spares Alfonse as the Order of Heroes capture her.
