Jeff Andonuts is an intelligent young man from the country of Winters who attends the Snow Wood Boarding School and one of the primary party members of MOTHER 2/EarthBound. He lacks any psychic power, and relies upon guns and gadgets as his weaponry of choice, some of which are repaired or built from junk by him on sleepless nights. He enters the battle against Giygas as a result of Paula calling for his aid with telepathy, as her and Ness are trapped in a dungeon in the undead-infested town of Threed. Going on a small adventure of his own to escape the boarding school (with aid from a few of his classmates) and traversing the land with the aid of a bubble-gum chewing monkey and the monster of Lake Tess, Tessie, until he finds the laboratory of his father (Dr. Andonuts, a genius scientist, to whom Jeff is estranged), and is granted the Sky Runner to travel to Threed to rescue his new friends. After a crash-landing into the dungeon and use of a "machine that opens doors, especially if you have a slightly bad key," Jeff joins the party.
