Kotoko the Ma tango originally joined the guild seeking shelter from hostile humans. Despite every ones welcome arms she never truly allowed herself to open up to the others. Her cold demeanor and tendency to avoid the others leads many to think she is elitist and doesn't like them. In truth, she thinks of herself as inadequate and fears rejection so puts up emotional walls as a defense. Eventually when the Construct Cathy rises to power she becomes enthralled and takes on a new happier persona, and after Cathys defeat she feels a sadness for losing that side of her. She goes so far as to join a secret group with Viv the Mindflayer and Saori the Gremlin in hopes of reviving the A.I. She eventually opens herself up to the others and begins to hop back and forth between the two personas.
