Svetlana
Though one of the original members of the Stygian Molls, Svetlana's mostly retired from the front line. She's fixed up the Styx, a nightclub from the beforetimes, and manages it. Because it's the only functioning boozehouse in the city, Svetlana's pretty broadly liked, and because happy customers often try to buy her drinks, she's nearly always at least a little tipsy. About the Styx... "I'd been here once before - my big brother'd had his twenty-fifth here, and all the local mob rocked up. I was the only kid, but 'cuz all the family was present, there wasn't really anyone to look after me. They all got whacked, and I spent most of the time up at the bar talkin' to the old guy that was workin' there. He seemed pretty embarassed that all the adults would leave a minor unattended to, so he kinda became my babysitter. He was cool. "Funny - I said to 'im we should work a bar together someday, and he said 'e'd probably croak before I got old enough for that." About Tara... "Ah yeis, my darling Tsara... I hadn't really known her before all this, but I'd seen her around - mostly passing out fliers or hustling tourists. You get the impression she's always been kinda scrappy. It's hard to tell, y'know, if she's older than she looks or younger than she acts." About the Molls... "There were only five of us at first: Tara, Greta, Murphy, Sorcha, and me - and we rode around in our conquest of nonviolence, tryna convince everyone we came across that they could trust us; that we'd help 'em against what- or whomever threatened until we could restore some kind of order. Sorcha got killed in the second measure - don't think that guy was affiliated with anyone in particular - and Greta died in that first massacre by the Executors. "Seems like forever ago, but it wasn't. Lot of the girls who we'd been protecting then are fighting with us now, and it sucks, but obvy we can't continue with the nonviolent approach anymore." About Murphy... "Oh, Murphy... It was... That was such a strange day: the morning we- Tara just came into my room and told me that Murphy'd left. And she showed me the note, and we asked around all the other girls if anyone knew where she used to live or if anyone had any idea where she might've gone off to, but... just... nothing. I'd never seen Tara cry before. "If... if Murph needs to be alone for a while, then that's okay, but if she ever gets lonely, I hope she comes back. Tara's never gonna be the type to say it to 'er face, but... y'know, maybe she'd cry happy tears and that would say it for 'er." About Tara (again)... "After a difficult day - for one or both of us - she comes to my room at night, and she sits in my lap, and I untangle her hair." About her past... "I remember them, sure, and if I had to say a 'yea' or 'nay' on if I miss 'em, I guess I'd say 'yea', but it's not cripplin'. I had a big family - like a hundred in the local area - but I got a big family now. On those rare occassions when we get all the Molls together, it's like when we'd all go to prapa's house for New Years; I'd have to peel their drunk butts off the lawn the next day, ehe. None of the Molls drink like my family did, but if any of 'em start to, I'll be ready to handle it." About Kit... "He's one of the good ones; I always overpour a little for 'im. Can't tell if he and Lucy are dating, but either way, he's real respectful to all the girls around. Sucks that that's rare." About Lucy... "That girl sure can put away a drink, and she's a very affectionate drunk. I should probably cut her off earlier than I usually do, but it's hard to refuse her. I know, at least, that Kit'll get her home safe." About Nora and Ben... "Kit and Lucy only brought 'em to the Styx once, and it was like my brother's twenty-fifth all over again. But I was the old guy. It was... really kinda cool be able to keep them company like he did me." About Billi... "There was enough booze layin' around the city to keep us medicated for a while, but we were always gonna hafta get the distilleries up and runnin'. I don't think Billi even drinks, but she's been really great about matching my requests for grapes an' grains or whatever. And if she does drink, then she oughta let me know; every single one for her is on the house." About the Wizards... "The dough-boys too would absolutely get free rounds if they ever came down, but I can 'preciate that a place like the Styx ain't really easy f'ya got some anxieties. I send a bottle of some good shit with our girls whenever they go to see 'em for something, but who knows if they're actually drinkin' it. Might just be bein' awkwardly polite, y'know?" About the Echoes... "I don't really leave West Edge much, and it sounds like they don't really leave the library, but I've heard about 'em. No idea if they know who I am." About Kasia... "First time she came in, she asked if I had Wyborowa. And I had some, but not a lot- but it's all reserved for her now. Kasia puts up with a lot of shit, and she gives a lot for this city; it's the least I can do." About the Knuth Brothers... "I've heard they're less bad when separated, but I've only seen them together, and they're terrible together. They slam glasses, bark their orders, and they always - always - try to get handsy with my staff. Hard to be thankful for their fight against the Executors when all I see from them is attempted molestation in my bar. "If they're in, I generally try to keep an eye on them, but when they get really whacked, they're... a little too dangerous for me to deal with. So thank god for Kasia." About Ultimum Recursum... "Unfortunately, a lot of the guys in the UR follow the Knuth boys' lead, but, conversely fortunately, most aren't so blindly cocky as they are; I can usually spook the grunts into submission by myself." About the Executrix... "Obviously, I hate her. Her thugs killed Greta, and her thugs've killed loads others since - but my hatred of her isn't as active as that of most others. I head to the front lines once in a while, sure, but I spend most of my time at the Styx. I keep the music there loud enough to dull whatever broadcast she might air." About Sex Party... "I've never heard a good thing about them that's a good thing I care about. 'Whoa!: big cocks!' - cool, thanks but no thanks, or 'WHA!! BIG OL' TIDDIES!!' - but like, yeah, no, I'm alright - ace - an' everyone agrees they're led by two humungo-supercunts." About Titty Manipulator... "I like to think of myself as kind of a pacifist, but if he ever walked in here, I'd yank that rifle down from 'bove the bar and find out once and for all if it worked or not."
