I have downloaded the latest .ppx file and placed it in the data folder. However, it still doesn’t seem to work. Do I need to download the .pp file?

You don't need the pp file if you have the ppx file, I don't know your exact set up so it's hard to know what cause the problem. It's better for you to ask in 8chan/aa2g/, or in discord(there are two, one can be found in the guide and the other can be found on github aa2u)
